MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Following their fifth consecutive win last week, the Memphis Tiger women's soccer team has found two players named to the American Athletic Conference's Weekly Awards in Saorla Miller and Haylee Spray.
Miller, a 5th year out of Halifax, Nova Scotia, netted her eighth goal of the season in the 43' against UTSA. Her goal would ultimately stand as the game-winning goal, her fourth of the season. Miller currently leads the team and the conference in total goals, game-winning goals and points per game.
This is the fourth AAC Weekly Award for Miller this season and the seventh of her career.
Spray, a senior out of Allen, Texas, led a Memphis backline that recorded its fourth consecutive shutout and the sixth of the season. Along with the shutout, Spray anchored a Tiger defense that held UTSA to just four shots the entire match, only two being on-goal, marking the fourth game this season the Tigers have held their opponents to five shots or less.
This is the first AAC Weekly Award for Spray this season and the seventh of her career.
