Tigers Draw With Panthers in Home Opener

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Tiger men's soccer team came back to the Bluff City for their home opener against Georgia State. While the Tigers scored late in the match to tie it up, they would not be able to come away with the win and settled for the 1-1 tie.
After today's game, Memphis moves to 2-0-1 for the season.

- The Tigers and Panthers played a lot in the midfield in the first half with a combined five shots recorded in the opening 45 minutes.
- Hayden Anderson would get the Tigers first look of the match just two minutes in when he fired off a shot from 25-yards out that hit the left post.
- Shots from Kodai Tanaka, Lineker Rodrigues dos Santos and Anders Bordoy would give Memphis opportunities, but they would see a 0-0 tie heading into halftime.
- In the 62' of play, Colin Welsh would keep Georgia State off the board with a diving save.
- GSU would take the 1-0 lead in the 80' when Dylan Williams found the back of the net off a rebounded shot deep in the box.
- Just two minutes later, the Tigers would get on the board when Eric Primo played a corner kick right to Jackson Kim who headed it home.
- Despite not getting another shot off for the rest of the match, Memphis would hold Georgia State and come away with the 1-1 tie.
