Blake Smart Adds Isaiah Jackson to Coaching Staff

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Men's Golf team announces that Isaiah Jackson has been hired as the assistant golf coach. Jackson comes back to Memphis after serving as an assistant coach at Bowling Green State University and a volunteer assistant coach for his alma mater Memphis.
"I am excited to announce that Isaiah Jackson will be joining our staff as the new assistant golf coach." Head Coach Blake Smart remarks. "Coach Jackson is one of the best athletes to wear a Memphis logo and being able to bring him back home to coach the next generation of players is a great moment for the program. I know the players will be eager to work with Coach Jackson as we continue to push towards being a nationally prominent program and bringing championships back to the city of Memphis."
Jackson spent the 2022-23 season as an assistant coach for the men's and women's golf programs at BGSU. During his stint with the Falcons he helped the team to multiple Top 10 finishes including coming in third in the Tom Tontimonia Invitational.
A PING All-American during his time at Memphis, Jackson spent time playing professional golf. He was the winner of the Swing Thought Tour Event in Lansing, Mich., in September of 2021 while playing on the Swing Thought Tour and the All-Pro Tour (APT).
As a member of the Tiger golf team, Jackson set the single season stroke average mark during the 2019-20 season with 70.00. He was the 2020 Mississippi Amateur Champion (68-70-70-69) and a 2018 Patriot All-America Champion in Phoenix, Ariz., with a score of 67-68-70 in one of the Top 50 amateur tournaments in the world.
Prior to Memphis, Jackson played at Meridian Community College in Meridian, Miss. While at MCC He finished a medalist five times and finished in the Top 10 in 17 out of 19 tournaments. Jackson was named the MACJC Player of the Year during the 2016-17 season and was the medalist at the MACJC state tournament. He was a NJCAA Freshman All-American and a NJCAA PING first-team All-American in 2016-17. Jackson led the NJCAA ranks in stroke average (71.90) and recorded the most eagles (12) during the 20217-18 season.
Jackson, a native of Golden. Miss., graduated from Memphis with a Bachelor of Science in exercise science.
