Memphis Brings Home Numerous ITA All-Academic Honors

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis men's tennis team earned a handful of academic honors, including All-Academic Team and eight individual Scholar-Athlete awards, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced on Monday.
As a team, the Tigers were recognized as an All-Academic Team with a 3.66 team GPA for the 2022-23 academic year, which was the highest GPA total for any male team in the department.
To be named an ITA All-Academic team, a program must have a grade point average of 3.2 or above, while all student-athletes on the roster and all varsity letterwinners factor into the team cumulative GPA for the most recent academic year.
In 2023, 959 Division I Men's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 162 men's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
In addition to the team recognition, eight Tigers were named ITA Scholar Athletes, including, Pablo Alemany, Sam Edgar, Pau Fanlo, Conor Gannon, Sam Reeve, Jeremy Taylor, Juan Zabala and David Stevenson. To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, individuals must have at least a 3.5 GPA.
In total, six players recorded a GPA of 3.7 or higher with Reeve earning a perfect 4.0.
