Memphis Men’s Golf Ready for Mossy Oak Collegiate Championship

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis men's golf team will head to West Point, Miss. to compete in the Mossy Oak Collegiate Championship this week. The two-day tournament begins on Monday, April 3 and runs through Tuesday, April 4. Live scoring for the event can be found at GoTigersGo.com.
"We are kicking off April with our strongest field of the year and we are excited to get down to Old Waverly and compete," head coach Blake Smart said.
The 54-hole tournament will be played at the par-72, 7,212-yard Mossy Oak Golf Club. Teams will play two rounds on Monday starting with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. The third and final round will be played on Tuesday with tee times beginning off Holes 1 and 10 at 8 a.m.
The 18-team field includes Memphis, Abilene Christian, No. 17-ranked Alabama, No. 4 Auburn, No. 33 Cincinnati, No. 24 Kansas State, Lamar, No. 41 Liberty, No. 43 LSU, Louisiana, Louisiana Tech, Middle Tennessee, No. 21 Mississippi State, No. 23 Ole Miss, Southern Miss, No. 15 Tennessee, Troy and UAB.
Last time out, junior Esteban Vazquez tied for 13th place at The Johnnie-O at Sea Island with a score of 212 (+2). The top-20 finish was the fifth-straight for Vazquez and his team-best sixth top-20 of the season.
