MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis men's golf team will head to Bluffton, S.C. to compete in the Colleton River Collegiate this week. The two-day tournament begins on Monday, March 6 and runs through Tuesday, March 7. Live scoring can be found at GoTigersGo.com.
"These two events back-to-back will be excellent opportunities for us to move towards our goals for the year," head coach Blake Smart said. "Colleton River is a premier venue and one we are very familiar with, so I'm looking for us to start to find our form heading into the stretch run of the year."
The 54-hole event will be played on the Jack Nicklaus Course at the Colleton River Club. Teams will play two rounds beginning on Monday, with the third and final round being played on Tuesday.
The 12-team field includes Memphis, Michigan State, Indiana, Minnesota, No. 28-ranked Ohio State, Penn State, Rutgers, No. 46 Missouri, No. 25 Cincinnati, No. 24 Georgia Southern, Iowa State and No. 21 Kansas State.
Last time out, the Tigers placed 10th at the Hal Williams Collegiate, with junior Esteban Vazquez leading the way, tying for 15th place with a score of 210 (-3). The top-20 finish was Vazquez's fourth of the season and third straight.
