CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Memphis Tigers women's tennis team finished off its weekend sweep Sunday with a 4-1 victory over Xavier at Eastern Hills Racquet Club in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The Tigers (6-11) have now won five of their last seven matches.

Memphis won the doubles point with Camila Soares and Monique Woog winning 6-2 at the second position before Dovalee Tumthong and Miriam Grosman brought home the point on court three with a hard-fought 7-6 tiebreak victory.

In singles action, Emily Meyer won in straight sets (6-4, 6-2) in the fourth slot to put the Tigers back in front, 2-1, after the Musketeers tied the match on court five.

Aran Teixido Garcia and Woog each dropped their first set, but they both battled from behind to earn victories at the No. 2 and No.3 positions to clinch the victory for Memphis.

Teixido took her decision 2-6, 6-0, 6-2 while Woog emerged on top 3-6, 6-4, 6-2.

The Tigers get some time off before returning to the court on April 11 in Clarksville, Tennessee to take on the Austin Peay Govs at 1 p.m.
