Women’s Golf Begins Spring at Tulane Classic Presented by Chad Brownstein

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis women's golf team will head to New Orleans, La. to compete in the Tulane Classic presented by Chad Brownstein. The three-day tournament begins on Sunday, Feb. 12 and runs through Tuesday, Feb. 14. Live scoring can be found at GoTigersGo.com.
"This is a fun event that will really challenge us," head coach Jennifer Jordan said. "The team is extremely excited to come back to this event and compete and I am looking forward to their focus and commitment to the process."
The 54-hole event will be hosted by Tulane and is presented by Green Wave men's golf alumnus Chad Brownstein. Teams will play 18 holes each day on the par 72, 6,178-yard course with a shotgun start at 9:32 a.m. The second round will begin on holes 1 and 10 beginning at 9 a.m., while the third and final round will begin on holes 1 and 10 at 8 a.m.
The 20-team field includes Memphis, Boston College, Cal Poly, Central Arkansas, Charleston Southern, Chattanooga, Howard, Incarnate Word, Iowa, Missouri State, No. 48 Purdue, Rutgers, South Dakota, Southern Miss, UTEP, Tulane, Wichita State and Arkansas State.
Last time out, the Tigers placed sixth at the NCAA Invitational in Atlantis, Bahamas with a team score of 918 (+54). Freshman Tilly Garfoot led the way, notching her third-straight top-20, tying for 16th with a total of 227 (+11).
