Rodrigues dos Santos Named AAC Offensive Player of the Year; Six Named to All-Conference Teams

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis men's soccer team's terrific season continues with Lineker Rodrigues dos Santosbeing named as the American Athletic Conference's Offensive Player of the Year and six Tigers being named to postseason teams.
"I'm really pleased to hear of our representation on the all-conference teams," head coach Richard Mulrooney said. "All these players have played major roles on our team and I'm glad to see they got recognized for this. We will be looking for these players along with the rest of our squad to hopefully help us earn a conference championship in Dallas this week as that is truly the focus of our team."
Rodrigues dos Santos, a junior out of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, picked up the conference's Offensive Player of the Year award after recording an AAC-best 12 goals while adding five assists. The forward led the league in game-winning goals (7), goals-per game (0.75), points-per game (1.81), total goals (12) and total points (29).
Two Tigers were named to the All-Conference First Team; along with Rodrigues dos Santos, Jackson Kim picked up his first all-conference nod after making 16 starts while recording three goals. The senior out of Norman, Okla., was a staple in the Tiger backline posting two shutouts and 10 one-goal games this season.
Elie Bokota and JD Gunn earned Second Team All-AAC honors. Bokota finished the regular season making 16 appearances while assisting on four goals. Bokota assisted on both goals in the team's 2-1 win over Tulsa while picking up the game-tying dish against FIU.
Gunn had a spectacular season in the Memphis blue with a 7-1 mark in nine appearances. Gunn, who finished out the regular season with a 1.12 goals-against average, recorded a shutout over then ninth-ranked Missouri State, and made 30 saves in 640 minutes of work.
A pair of Tiger freshmen were named to the AAC's All-Rookie Team; Dino Stavros and Giorgos Kondylis were both unanimous decisions following standout rookie seasons with Memphis. Stavros made 16 appearances and helped the Tiger defense to two shutouts and 10 one-goal games while Kondylis netted the game-winning goal in the team's 1-0 win over then ninth-ranked Missouri State.
In addition, Memphis was named as the AAC's Fair Team Play Award winner.
