Four Named to United Soccer Coaches All-South Region Teams

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Following a record-breaking season, the Memphis Tiger women's soccer team has placed four athletes on the United Soccer Coaches All-South Region Teams.
Mya Jones, a fifth-year senior out of Calgary, Alberta, was named to the First Team after a career season where she netted 11 goals and assisted on another 11 scores. Jones, the American Athletic Conference's Offensive Player of the Year, was also a First Team All-AAC honoree after scoring six of her 11 goals during conference play. This is the second-career All-South Region First Team nod for Jones.
Haylee Spray, a senior from Allen, Texas, was named to the First Team after helping anchor a Tiger backline that recorded 13 shutouts this season – including a six-game stretch where Memphis held its opponents scoreless. Spray, who was tabbed as the AAC's Co-Defensive Player of the Year, also picked up her second consecutive First Team All-AAC nod this season. This is the first All-South Region award for Spray.
Momo Nakao, a junior from Inzai City, Chiba, Japan, found her name on the First Team following a season where she scored six goals and dished out five assists. Of her six goals, four stood as game-winners. The AAC's Midfielder of the Year and First Team All-Conference honoree, Nakao was one of five players to start and play in all 22 matches for the Tigers this year. This is the first All-South Region award for Nakao.
Saorla Miller, a fifth-year senior from Halifax, Nova Scotia, was named to the Second Team after leading the team with 12 goals and assisting on another three scores. Miller, who was a First Team All-AAC honoree, recorded six game-winning goals this season. This is the first All-South Region award of Miller's career.
