Hamano Tabbed Rookie of the Week; Jones, Stordy Named to Honor Roll

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis women's soccer team continues to roll through the season, placing three on the American Athletic Conference's Weekly Awards list.
Honoka Hamano, a freshman from Tokyo, Japan, was named as the AAC's Rookie of the Week after punching in two goals, while recording two assists in the team's back-to-back wins over UAB and Temple. Hamano's goal in the 6' against the Blazers marked the first goal of her collegiate career.
This is the first career AAC Weekly Award for Hamano.
Mya Jones, a fifth-year senior from Calgary, Alberta, was named to the AAC's Weekly Honor Roll after netting back-to-back goals in the team's win over Temple, while racking up three assists over the two matches last week. Of the team's eight goals last week, Jones played a part in five of them.
This is the second AAC Weekly Award nod for Jones this season and the 12th of her career.
Grace Stordy, a senior out of Calgary, Alberta, was named to the AAC's Weekly Honor Roll after helping to anchor a Memphis backline to a pair of shutout wins, while recording two assists. Stordy was part of a Tiger calvary that held UAB and Temple to a combined three shots last week.
This is the first AAC Weekly Award win for Stordy this season and the fourth of her career.
