Defending American Athletic Conference Tournament champion men's basketball opens its season with a pair of exhibition games on Sunday at 2 p.m. against Lane College and Thursday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. against LeMoyne-Owen College, before the regular season begins on Monday, Nov. 6 against Jackson State at 7 p.m.
Women's basketball's regular season starts on the road at Middle Tennessee on Monday, Nov. 6, and the home opener is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 9 against Alabama State at 7 p.m.
Both squads boast preseason all-conference honorees, announced recently by the AAC. Four men's basketball players were recognized with preseason honors as Jahvon Quinerly landed on the first team all-conference, and Jordan Brown earned a spot on the second team. Freshmen Carl Cherenfant and JJ Taylor were tabbed Co-Rookies of the Year.
Women's basketball is led by Madison Griggs, a fifth year from Memphis, who was named to the AAC's Preseason All-Conference First Team after her stellar performance last season. The 2022-23 All-AAC Third Team honoree averaged 12.3 points per game a year ago while draining 87 three-pointers.
Season tickets are also on sale for both programs, with women's basketball recently setting a program record for most season tickets sold. Fans interested in men's basketball tickets can also build a customizable 3-Game Pack, starting at only $39, or purchase a Dynamic Pass, which includes a ticket to each home game with variable seating locations throughout the year so fans can enjoy different views at FedExForum, including the lower bowl, all season long.
Season tickets and the 3-Game Pack and Dynamic Pass can also be purchased online at www.GoTigersGoTix.com or by calling the Memphis Ticket Office.
