Tigers Bounce Back with Shutout Win Over Florida Atlantic

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – After a tough road swing against ACC opponents last weekend, the Tigers started off their last week of non-conference play with a bang as they defeated the Owls of Florida Atlantic 3-0.

After today's game, Memphis moves to 4-3 for the season.

KEY MOMENTS

Following a 0-0 halftime score, Jocelyn Alonzo found the head of Kimberley Smit off a corner kick in the 46' of the match to give Memphis the 1-0 lead.
Smit would keep the Owls off the board in the 64' when she blocked Sophia Voldby's shot at the goal line.
Just three minutes later, the Tigers would breakdown the FAU defense when Eef Kerkhof netted an insurance goal off assists from Saorla Miller and Peyton Felton.
Mya Jones would seal the deal with a solo shot in the 86' to net her second goal of the year.

NOTABLES

Claire Wyville made her first start of the season while getting the shutout with four saves.
This is the third match this season where three different Tiger players have scored goals in a game.
Memphis remains undefeated at the Track & Soccer complex with their third win this season.
