Tigers Drop 2022-23 Schedule
Sep 21, 2022 | Women's Basketball
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Ahead of the second season of the Katrina Merriweather Era, the Memphis Tigers women's basketball team has released their full schedule for the upcoming 2022-23 season.
"We believe the first half of the schedule is what we need to prepare for a tough conference schedule," said Merriweather. "It challenges us both at home and on the road and we look forward to being tested."
Memphis will kick off the season with a four-game home stand in the Elma Roane Fieldhouse beginning on Tuesday, Nov. 1 when the Tigers host Rust College for an exhibition game. They will then host Columbia, Howard and Miami (OH) the following week.
The Tigers will take their first travel trip of the year when they head north to take on SIUE and Southern Illinois before jetting off west for the Las Vegas Invitational on Nov. 25 and 26. Memphis will face-off with St. John's and Indiana, respectively. Coach Merriweather and crew will round out their two weeks on the road with their biggest challenge of the year – the reigning National Champion South Carolina Gamecocks – on Dec. 3.
American Athletic Conference (AAC) play begins early for the Tigers as they will open the AAC portion of their schedule on Friday, Dec. 30 at Temple.
