Meredith Tabbed as AAC Defensive Player of the Week

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – After opening the season with a win over Queens and a tie with College of Charleston, Bryce Meredith has been named as the American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Meredith, a senior out of Raleigh, N.C., helped anchor a Memphis defense that shutout the Royals in the team's season opener and held the Cougars to one goal. Meredith, who played a combined 126 minutes over the weekend, helped the Tigers hold both Queens and College of Charleston to just five combined shots on-goal.
This the first AAC Weekly Award for Meredith this season and the first for his career.
The Tigers (1-0-1) will open home action this week when they host Xavier on Thursday night. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Track & Soccer Complex. Coverage of the match can be found on ESPN+ and on GoTigersGo.com
