Tigers Place Sixth at AAC Championship

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – The University of Memphis men's golf team finished up competition at the 2022 American Athletic Conference (AAC) Championship on Sunday, carding a final round score of 286 (-2) to finish in sixth place with a three-round total of 867 (+3).
No. 43-ranked SMU won the conference title with a score of 835 (-29), beating No. 38 South Florida by nine strokes. Houston finished in third with a total of 848 (-16), while UCF and Cincinnati rounded out the top-five.
KEY MOMENTS
• Tyran Snyders had a great final day at the AAC Championship, carding a 69 (-3) to move up the leaderboard and finish tied for 16th place with a 215 (-1).
• The sophomore had four birdies on his round to earn his team-leading seventh top-20 finish in just nine tournaments this season.
• James Morgan also had a great round for the Tigers, shooting a final round 70 (-2) to finish tied for 18th place with a total of 216 (E). The top-20 was his second of the year.
• Ryan van der Klis also tied for 18th place on the weekend with a score of 216 (E), notching his first career top-20 finish.
• His total of 216 and finish of T-18 were both career bests for the sophomore.
