Monaghan Adds Two for 2022 Season

MEMPHIS, Tenn.– Head women's soccer coach Brooks Monaghan has announced the signing of two additional athletes for the 2022 season; Rebecca Grisdale and Zoe May will join the rest of the nationally ranked Tigers on the pitch this fall.
"We are extremely excited to have Rebecca and Zoe joining our program this fall," said Monaghan. "Both of these young ladies are very talented. Not only do we believe that they will add depth to our team but they will also make our team stronger."
Rebecca Grisdale | Defender | Calgary, Alberta | All Saints High School | Calgary Foothills Soccer Club

Grisdale, a native of Calgary, Alberta, comes to Memphis after a successful playing career with Calgary Foothills Soccer Club where she was part of the 2020 U17 Indoor Provincial Champion team and was a national champion in 2019. Grisdale was also a Provincial medalist in the 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 seasons while claiming gold in the 2016 and 2019 seasons.
She has been a team captain for the past six seasons and was named to the All-Star Second Team in the west conference while playing WFC/UWS. Grisdale was also part of the Surf Cup 2019 championship team.

Zoe May | Forward | Ottawa, Ontario | Immaculata High School | Ottawa South United PLSQ Women's League

May, a forward from Ottawa, Ontario, comes to Memphis after playing with Ottawa South United PLSQ Women's League this past year. She helped her team to a 10-2 season where she scored 20 goals over the 12-game period. May also had a career game where she scored six goals and recorded two assists in a single game.
May also spent time with the Ottawa South United Soccer Club Provincial League, West Ottawa Soccer Club Provincial League and was selected to the Team Ontario Provincial matches in the 2019 season.
Why Memphis for May:
"I chose the University of Memphis because of its amazing soccer program and the opportunity to play at the highest level. I also wanted to get my education at a great institute with a lot of school spirit."
