Memphis Heads South for Mobile Bay Intercollegiate

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis men's golf team returns to action at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate to begin the spring season for the Tigers. The two-day tournament gets started on Monday, Feb. 14 and runs through Tuesday, Feb. 15. Live scoring for the event can be found at GoTigersGo.com.
The 54-hole tournament will be hosted by South Alabama and will be played on the par 72, 7,212-yard Magnolia Grove Crossings Golf Course. Teams will play 36 holes on Monday beginning with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. CT and the final round on Tuesday with 8:00 a.m. CT starts on holes 1 and 10.
The 14-team field includes Memphis, No. 42 UAB, Davidson, No. 41 Florida State, No. 18 Illinois, Kansas State, No. 32 Kent State, Louisiana, Miami (Ohio), South Alabama, Southern Miss, Texas State, Toledo and Western Kentucky.
In the fall season, the Tigers were led by sophomore Tyran Snyders and Esteban Vazquez. Snyders is ranked No. 85 individually by Golfweek, while Vazquez is ranked No. 111.
Snyders tallied two-top five finishes and finished no worse than tied for 11th in the team's three fall events, while Vazquez notched a T-3, T-6 and T-13.
