MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Tiger women's soccer team made a statement win today on their way to a 4-0 victory over East Carolina.

After today's game, Memphis moves to 5-4-4 for the season and 1-1-3 in American Athletic Conference play.

KEY MOMENTS

The Tigers got on the board early when Saorla Miller found the feet of Jocelyn Alonzo to connect for the 1-0 lead.
Less than two minutes later, Mya Jones would record her sixth goal of the season after Memphis broke the ECU defense to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead just 12 minutes into the match.
Haylee Spray would cap off a near perfect half for Memphis with a put-back goal off a rebounded shot in the 38'. The Tigers would take the 3-0 lead into halftime.
Memphis would continue to control the pace of the match, getting one last goal in the 88' after Alonzo sent a shot towards the Pirates goal and the ball shanked off an ECU defender.

NOTABLES

Claire Wyville recorded her fourth shutout of the year after making one save.
Memphis won the battle on shots (16-3), shots on-goal (8-1) and corner kicks (7-5).
With today's win, the Tigers remain undefeated at home with a 4-0-2 record.

UP NEXT

The Tigers will hit the road once again to take on Temple on Sunday, Oct. 16. Start time is scheduled for 11 a.m. CT.
