Tigers Head North to Compete in Purdue Fall Invitational

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis men's golf team will head to West Lafayette, Ind. to compete in the Purdue Fall Invitational this week. The two-day tournament begins on Monday, Oct. 10 and runs through Tuesday, Oct. 11. Live scoring for the event can be found at GoTigersGo.com.
"This is another excellent test for us, both in terms of venue and competition," head coach Blake Smart said. "As we come to the middle of our season, it's so important to stay focused and intentional in everything we do. This week will test that preparation."
The 54-hole tournament will be played at the par-72, 7,465-yard Kampen Golf Course. Teams will play two rounds on Monday before the third and final round on Tuesday.
The 15-team field includes No. 72-ranked Memphis, No. 7 Tennessee, No. 33 LSU, No. 44 Little Rock, No. 45 Purdue, No. 51 Indiana, No. 57 Illinois State, No. 82 Nebraska, No. 99 Louisiana Tech, No. 100 Iowa, VCU, Ball State, Central Arkansas, Eastern Michigan and Maryland.
Last time out, junior Jack Tanner led the Tigers at the Windon Memorial, placing third with a score of 207 (-3). As a team, Memphis finished sixth overall with a total of 851 (+11).
