Alonzo Named to AAC Weekly Honor Roll

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Following an assist and goal in the team's tie with Houston, Jocelyn Alonzo has found herself on the American Athletic Conference's Weekly Honor Roll list, the conference announced on Monday.
Alonzo, a sophomore from Coppell, Texas, assisted on the Tigers first goal in the 85' when she found the head of Mya Jones off a corner kick. Just four minutes later, Alonzo would net the equalizer goal on the corner kick to give Memphis a share of the match.
This is the first Honor Roll award for Alonzo this season and the second time she has been named to the AAC Weekly Awards in her career.
Memphis (4-3-4, 0-0-3 AAC) is back in action this week when they travel to South Florida for a Thursday night showdown. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT. The Tigers will be back at the Track & Soccer Complex on Sunday, Oct. 9 beginning at 1 p.m. Coverage for both games can be found on ESPN+.
