Cross Country to Compete in Annual Blazer Classic

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis men's and women's cross country teams are set to compete in their last race before the American Athletic Conference Championships in two weeks.
Hosted by UAB, the Annual Blazer Classic kicks off Friday morning at the University of Montevallo Cross Country Course. The women will begin the 6k race at 9 a.m., and the men are slated to start the 8k at 9:40.
The Tigers last competed in the competitive Louisville Cross Country Classic, where Zachary Wyatt and Chloe Figgins paced the squads.
This is the women's team first 6k race of the season; all three previous meets they competed in the 5k.
Last year at the classic, Payton Gleason claimed the individual title, leading the men to a third-place team finish. Figgins led the women with a sixth-place PR time.

Alabama State, Birmingham Southern, Calhoun CC, Delta State, Emory, Florida A&M, Georgia State, Lipscomb, Marion Military Institute, Mississippi College, Memphis, Mississippi Valley, Montevallo, North Alabama, Oglethorpe, Rhodes, Rust College, Tennessee State, Troy, Tuskegee, UAB, Valdosta State and Western Kentucky.
