Tigers Set for Battle at Briar’s Creek

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis men's golf team will head to Johns Island, S.C. this week to compete in the Battle at Briar's Creek from Monday, Sept. 20 through Tuesday Sept. 21. Live scoring for the tournament can be found at GolfStat.com.
The two-day, event will be played at The Golf Club at Briar's Creek, a par 72 course that will be playing at 7,175 yards this week. The teams will play 36 continuous holes starting with a shotgun start on Sunday at 7:45 a.m. CT. Day two will feature tee times for the final 18 holes starting at 7:30 a.m. CT.
The 14-team field for the Battle at Briar's Creek includes Memphis, Campbell, College of Charleston, Charleston Southern, ECU, Elon, Francis Marion, Furman, Jacksonville, James Madison, Maryland, UNCW, Virginia Tech and Winthrop.
The Tigers opened the 2021-22 season on Sept. 5-6 at the Hoosier Collegiate Invitational, finishing sixth in a 15-team field. Memphis was led by sophomore Tyran Snyders, who tied for 11th place with a personal-best score of 217 (+4). Classmate Esteban Vazquez had his best showing as a Tiger, setting career-bests with his T-13 finish and 54-hole score of 218 (+8).
