Martin’s 2-under 70 leads Memphis men’s golf in t-4th after AAC Championship 2nd round

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – Senior Borja Martin fired a 2-under 70 as Memphis men's golf carded a 4-over 292 and is tied for fourth at 1-over 577 after the AAC Championship second round at Southern Hills Golf Club on Saturday.
The Tigers entered the day in second after a first round 3-under 285 at the par-72, 7,221-yard layout.
Martin was at 5-under on the round after birdies at Nos. 3, 5, 7, 9 and 10 before closing with three-straight bogeys on the final three holes. The San Sebastian, Spain, native is in seventh at 2-under 142 to lead the Tigers.
Oskar Ambrosius (73-73—146) and Esteban Vazquez (69-77—146) are tied for 19th while Guillaume Chevalier (71-76—147) is tied for 21st and Isaiah Jackson (75-73—148) is tied for 25th.
South Florida continues to lead at 14-under with a 270-292—562, 11 shots ahead of No. 20 SMU (287-286—573). Wichita State climbed five spots into third at even par 297-279—576. Memphis is tied for fourth with East Carolina (287-290—577) and ahead of UCF (288-293—581), Cincinnati (289-292—581) and Temple (296-302—598).
Wichita State's Marcus Wochner is the individual leader at 8-under 66-70—236, three shots ahead of the South Florida duo of Albin Bergstrom (68-71—139) and Kyle Flexsenhar (66-73—139).
The Tigers will tee off in Sunday's final round with Wichita State off No. 1 at 7:43 a.m. CT.
