MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis freshman defender Grace Stordy has been named AAC Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Monday. Senior goalkeeper Elizabeth Moberg was named to the weekly honor roll for the second consecutive week.
Stordy, a Calgary, Alberta, Canada, native, netted the match's lone goal 12 minutes into the second half to lift the Tigers to a 1-0 American Athletic Conference victory over UCF Sunday. The goal was Stordy's second of her freshman campaign. Stordy attempted a season-high three shots.
Moberg made two saves vs. UCF in posting her third shutout in four games this season and the 30th of her career.
Memphis (3-1, 2-0 AAC) plays host to Houston on Sunday at noon at the Park Avenue Campus before having four-straight road games at Cincinnati, Temple, Vanderbilt and USF.
Attendance at home games this season is limited to player and staff guests.
