MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis women's soccer team returns to action on Sunday to host Houston at noon on Park Avenue Campus.
The Tigers are 3-0 at home this season, scoring six goals and allowing none in the three contests. Memphis has won 13 consecutive regular-season home games dating back to the 2018 season. Attendance at home games this season is limited to player and staff guests.
Memphis (3-1 overall, 2-0 The American) is tied atop the AAC standings with USF and UCF. Each team has two conference wins, good enough for six points in the league table.
The Tigers defeated UCF 1-0 at home last Sunday. Freshman defender Grace Stordy scored the game-deciding goal 12 minutes into the second half and was named AAC Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week. After helping the Tigers secure a clean sheet, senior goalkeeper Elizabeth Moberg was named to the conference's weekly honor roll for the second consecutive week.
Houston (2-1-1, 0-1) is coming off back-to-back overtime games, a 1-0 loss at East Carolina and a 0-0 draw at UTSA. The Cougars face Rice in a non-conference game on Thursday ahead of their matchup with the Tigers.
Memphis and Houston last met in 2019, a 4-1 Tigers' victory. The Cougars' last win in the series came in 2012 with the Tigers winning the past eight matchups.
