MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Head women's soccer coach Brooks Monaghan has added another highly sought-after name to his roster for next season in Mie Jung Carstensen.
"We are thrilled to welcome Mie to the Tiger Family," said Monaghan. "She is a very technical player that has experience at the highest level in Denmark. We are excited to expand our international connections by adding someone like Mie with her capabilities as a player. We cannot wait for her to get here in January."

Carstensen, a forward/midfielder from Veksoe, Denmark, comes to Memphis after playing for FC Nordsjælland that plays in the Top Tier Division in Denmark. She also was selected to the U14 and U15 Danish National Teams. Carstensen has an extensive playing history with clubs throughout Denmark and has been playing against top academies throughout her youth like Barcelona and Chelsea FC. She won several regional championships and national cups and was a part of the team that won the world's largest youth tournament, the Norway International Cup.
Why Memphis for Carstensen:
"Their belief in me to come back stronger from my injury makes me even more motivated to get back to playing at a high level. Their professional set-up with their coaching staff, training staff, and high-level soccer that competes for championships on a consistent basis is why I chose Memphis."
