Dec 10, 2021 | General
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Twenty-two Memphis Tiger student-athletes representing nine sport programs are scheduled to graduate Sunday during winter commencement ceremonies at FedExForum. Twelve of the student-athletes are graduating with honors.
Degrees to be conferred include organizational leadership, marketing management, business information & technology, business economics, and criminal justice, among others.
"Our entire Memphis Athletics family congratulates these student-athletes on their graduation," Memphis Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Laird Veatch said. "Excelling in the classroom is the foundation of our mission, and for 12 of these 22 student-athletes to graduate with honors is incredibly impressive especially given the challenges of progressing towards a degree while being a student-athlete and in the middle of a global pandemic.
"We cannot wait to see what these student-athletes accomplish next."

In the NCAA's GSR report for the most recent 2014 cohort (2011-14), which calculates the rate at which student-athletes graduated within six years, Memphis' GSR was 94 percent. That figure is the highest in the American Athletic Conference and above the Division I average of 89 percent.
