MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Memphis Tiger women's tennis head coach Hayden Perez announced the signing of five-star recruit Micah Pierce, who will join the program for the 2022-23 season.
Pierce, from New Orleans, currently plays at Isidore Newman School and is the top-ranked recruit in the State of Louisiana.
"I really paid attention to the energy while I was on my visit," Pierce said. "I really liked how genuine and nice the coaches and team were, and I loved the facilities. They are building a new $24-million tennis facility, and the school is really improving in every area and investing a lot into their athletes."
"Micah's signing is very exciting for the program," Perez said. "Associate head coach Ryan Haymond and I couldn't be happier that Micah chose to be a Tiger. She is a humble young lady who really knows how to compete on the tennis court. In meeting Micah's parents we know she has been raised to be a person of high character, and we believe she will be an awesome addition to our team. We can't wait for her to be on campus next fall."
