Memphis Football to implement 12-foot social distancing seating model - Thursday, August 20
MEMPHIS -- In order to adhere to Shelby County Health Department directives, the University of Memphis football home opener on September 5 against Arkansas State will have several health and safety directives in place, including all ticket accounts separated by 12 feet in all directions.
Only fans who elected to donate the value of their season tickets may be eligible to receive single-game, socially distanced tickets to this game. As indicated previously, those tickets will be allocated based on TSF giving level and priority points. Fans who will have access to this game will receive an email from TigerTickets@memphis.edu next week with seat assignments and parking information. Verification of season ticket holder selections in the 12-foot scenario will be sent prior to ticket distribution.
Detailed information relative to digital ticketing, stadium regulations, concessions, parking and more will be released Monday, August 24.
Memphis Athletics announces home football game access for 2020 season - Friday, August 14, 2020
MEMPHIS – In order to adhere to health directives, the University of Memphis football home opener on Sept. 5 against Arkansas State will have several health and safety directives in place.
Memphis is moving to a digital ticketing platform for the 2020 season. This change will allow for a touchless experience while entering the game. Specific details, including how-to videos and instructions will be sent to fans who will have access to attending the game. Exact seat locations will also be delivered at that time.
Parking access will be limited to those attending games and tailgating is not permitted in any parking lot, including Tiger Lane. Parking instructions will be delivered as part of the digital ticket communication, and parking will only open two hours prior to kickoff.
Athletics announces the Keep Memphis Roaring Campaign - Thursday, August 6, 2020
MEMPHIS – Following the announcement by the American Athletic Conference relative to the 2020 football schedule and socially distanced seating requirements, University of Memphis Athletics has announced the Keep Memphis Roaring campaign.
While we have been focused on the well-being of our student-athletes, coaches and staff, we have also been planning for the day we can safely return to Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium for competition. With the recent announcement from the AAC regarding our football schedule, we are excited that our return may begin on September 5 vs. Arkansas State.
As you know, over the past several football seasons we have enjoyed historical success, highlighted by the 2019 AAC Championship, a trip to the Goodyear Cotton Bowl and Top 20 national ranking. Your Tigers have been to a bowl game for six straight seasons, won three straight AAC West Division titles, two AAC championships and been ranked in the Top 25 at some point in the last four seasons. Coach Silverfield and his staff are doing incredible work on the recruiting trail and are projected to secure one of the best classes in our already successful history. This season, the Tigers are one of only four programs in the nation to have three student-athletes on the prestigious Maxwell Award watch list presented to the College Player of the Year, including wide receiver Damonte Coxie, running back Kenneth Gainwell and quarterback Brady White.
Our football program consistently gains national accolades and attention. This sustained success did not happen by accident. Memphians built this program together. The coaching staff, student-athletes, donors and fans have all come together to make it possible. Everyone has been imperative to building the Tigers football program. If even one of these groups had not participated, our success would not have been possible.
It is going to take all of us to sustain this success. We now know that football games in Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium will look very different this year than the AAC game record of 59,506 fans who cheered us on to victory over previously unbeaten No. 15 SMU last November.
As we have shared with you previously, it is our goal to accommodate every season ticket holder. You have been with us through thick and thin, and we want to honor your loyalty. While plans for the Memphis Tigers 2020 football season are moving forward, stadium capacity will be diminished to meet safety guidelines. Health department authorities require 12-feet of social distancing between season ticket accounts. That requirement may well hold throughout the entire football season. However, it is also possible that the required distance may be reduced to 6-feet between accounts.
Highlighting the impact of these decisions on the financial viability of our programs, we are announcing the Keep Memphis Roaring campaign. This campaign asks Memphis season ticket holders to use, donate, or defer the value of their 2020 season tickets and parking back to the athletics department. Doing so will greatly assist with the significant budget challenges we face due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We remain committed to building a financial future that will sustain our recent momentum on the field of play, in the community and in the classroom. Combined, ticket revenues and donations to the Tiger Scholarship Fund are our largest resource, fueling the efforts of our student-athletes and coaches.
Under the 6-feet scenario, all season tickets purchased before the June 30 seating deadline will be accommodated. You will be asked to choose between accepting new “socially distanced” season ticket locations or donating or crediting the value of your tickets and parking to your 2021 season ticket bill. Please understand that nearly all season ticket locations will need to be moved. By opting in, ticket holders agree to new socially distanced seat locations for the 2020 season and agree to keep the same ticket balance paid regardless of the new seat location.
Under the 12-feet scenario, the capacity will be further diminished, preventing us from accommodating season ticket holders for each home game. Therefore, we are asking season ticket holders to donate or credit the value of their 2020 football season tickets and parking back to the athletics department. In return, we will provide single-game tickets to at least one home game along with other special benefits as outlined below. Only fans who choose to donate their season ticket and parking costs will be eligible for single-game tickets during the 2020 season under this scenario. Fans also have the option of requesting a refund, if they so choose.
To move forward and provide you with ample opportunity to make informed decisions, as well as help us prepare for both scenarios, we will send an online form for you to make your selections based on the options outlined below.
The deadline to make your selections is Wednesday, August 19. Those who do not make their selections by the deadline will be automatically enrolled in the “opt-in” to socially distanced seats in the 6-feet scenario and in the “donate” option in the 12-feet scenario. Again, please look for your email and website link where you can choose your preferred option.
Information relative to operations, including parking, tickets, tailgating, concessions, seat allocation and game day details will be updated on the www.KeepMemphisRoaring.com website and announced as the season approaches. Finally, we have set up a zoom call opportunity with athletics department staff for season ticket holders and donors at 3 p.m. Central on Friday, August 7. Frequently Asked Questions
When will we know the full football schedule and times?
As of today, the 2020 fall schedule remains the same (minus our game at Purdue). As is customary, times for each game will be released based on television selections
What are my options to attend games this season?
Single game tickets in the six-foot option will not be available and only season ticket holders who OPT IN will receive admission to all home games. In the 12-foot option, season ticket holders who choose DONATE will receive tickets at no additional charge for at least one game. Season ticket holders who choose CREDIT will have the opportunity to purchase single game tickets, if available. Ticket availability will be based on those who chose Option 1 (DONATE), sorted by TSF donation level and priority points.
What is the deadline?
Deadline to select your option is Wednesday, August 19
What if I don’t select an option?
If you do not select an option, you will automatically be opted in for the 6 and 12 ft. options to donate your tickets, parking and TSF FB donation.
If I donate my tickets, parking and TSF donation do I have to pay next year?
Yes, however you receive a price freeze for one year on any potential football ticket price increases for the 2021 season (seven home games, including Mississippi State). Donating the amount you paid for your tickets, parking and TSF donation is the most beneficial option to support Memphis Athletics and our over 400 student-athletes. By donating you are giving us the best opportunity to maintain our success in the community, classroom and in the field of play. Please consider this option to #KeepMemphisRoaring! Please check our webpage for additional benefits of donating your tickets, parking and TSF donation at www.keepmemphisroaring.com
If I credit my tickets, parking and TSF donation, do I have to pay next year?
If you select the credit option, the amount you paid for the 2020 season will be credited to your account and able to use on future ticket purchases (including basketball or single games if available). By crediting your account, you will only be responsible for any increase in tickets, parking and TSF donation.
Example: You pay $1,000 for the 2020 football season and choose to credit your account (which includes a 110% credit – in this example $100). If the price for the 2021 football season increases to $1,200 total for the same seats/parking/donation, you would only pay the difference ($100, $1,000 plus the $100 credit).
How will you socially distance seats in Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium?
We will abide by the most recent local and state health regulations, which is currently set at 12 feet. We will use that distance to seat our fans in a reserved seating location that will meet the required guidelines. We will only seat fans together that are family or close acquaintances that have requested us to do so. Accounts with more than eight (8) tickets will be split into separate clusters.
Where will my seat location be in a socially distanced stadium?
Depending on local and state health guidance, we plan to be at either 6 or 12 feet of social distancing between clusters of seats. Based on the 6 feet model, we anticipate being able to accommodate all season ticket holders, but no additional single game tickets. Seating will be dispersed throughout the stadium based on our existing priority system: TSF giving level, and then priority points.
Am I able to select my seats or know location prior to opting in?
No, by opting in you are agreeing to be automatically configured into a socially distanced stadium. Your location will be based on your TSF giving level, and then priority points.
What if I opt-in and do not like the location of my seats?
Unfortunately, we anticipate nearly all season ticket holders will be displaced by the local and state health guidelines we must follow. As we communicated with you, you have the option of opting into socially distanced seating, taking a credit and rolling your seats and payment over to the 2021 season, or requesting a refund. Once you opt in, you are agreeing to your new socially distanced seating. This includes any difference in value of seats.
What if I am not comfortable coming to a game due to COVID?
Options regarding your decision to opt-in to the 2020 season may be found on the Keep Memphis Roaring web page (KeepMemphisRoaring.com). You may complete the online form with your selection including donate, credit or request a refund.
What if the season is disrupted and games are postponed or canceled?
In our 12-foot scenario, you are opting in and we are guaranteeing you the ability to attend at least one home game (based on playing six home games). However if the season is disrupted, postponed or canceled you will not have options to credit or refund after you have selected the donate option.
In our 6-foot scenario, we anticipate being able to accommodate all season ticket holders who have purchased prior to June 30. Therefore, if the season is disrupted, postponed or canceled you will have the ability to select from our season disruption policies we issued in April.
In the 12-foot scenario, what if I receive tickets to a game and I can’t attend, can I receive tickets to another game?
While we are uncertain regarding the capacity and number of ticket holders we will be able to accommodate (based on how many opt-in), we will make an effort to be accommodating if the capacity exists for another game.

Will I be required to wear masks?
Per local health guidelines, masks will be required to wear at all times: entering and moving about the stadium and while seated in the stadium.
Will suites and other premium areas be open this season?

Will any away game tickets be available this season?
We do not anticipate away game tickets being available this season. Please call the ticket office at the away game location to check availability of single game tickets.
What if I need ADA seating?
Based on capacity, efforts will be made to accommodate those with existing ADA seating. Please call the ticket office at 678-2331 to discuss ADA seating needs.
Will I be able to transfer or resell my tickets?
Yes, however per required health guidelines we ask that you maintain your tickets as a group and those attending games together are family or close acquaintances.

Yes, you will have access to your traditional season tickets when renewals are sent out for the 2021 season.
