Madison Griggs named to AAC All-Freshman Team

Memphis native leads the league with 88 three-pointers
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The American Athletic Conference announced the regular season awards Friday, with freshman guard Madison Griggs earning a spot on the league's All-Freshman Team.

The Memphis native has had a record-breaking year for the Tigers. Griggs' records this season include:
Griggs leads the league and is first nationally among freshmen with her 88 three-pointers. She has currently made the third most triples in a single-season ever in the history of Memphis basketball (men's and women's).

She has scored at least 20 points in four games this season, most recently in the regular season finale against SMU when she led Memphis with 21 points behind seven three-pointers. For the year, Griggs connected on 38.9 percent of her three-pointers and was a 71.4 percent shooter from the charity stripe.

Her 10.6 points per game rank third on the Tigers and 23rd overall in the AAC. Seventeen times this season, Griggs has scored in double figures. She has also hit at least seven three-pointers three times, at least five three-pointers six times and at least three triples on 18 occasions.

Griggs becomes the fourth Tigers to land a spot on The American's All-Freshman Team. She was one of four unanimous picks to the team.
