Another Record-Breaking Year for Memphis Athletics’ Tiger Scholarship Fund and M Club

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Tigers Athletics Department is excited to announce a record-setting year once again for the Tiger Scholarship Fund (TSF, the department's annual fund), raising $8.25 million to support student-athlete scholarships in 2018-19. An all-time high of over 4,000 donors made gifts to TSF last year. Overall, Memphis Athletics' fundraising accounted for over $13 million total. Additionally, the M Club, the former letter winners' association, had a record 758 dues-paying members. Just six years ago, the M Club had 129 members.
"We are so grateful to the over 4,000 donors who helped support a Tiger student-athlete with a gift to help us cover scholarship costs," said Interim Director of Athletics Allie Prescott. "With nearly 400 student-athletes, we have a significant obligation for tuition each year and our donors to the Tiger Scholarship Fund enable us to continue to offer academic opportunities for talented Tigers across all 19 sports."
The Tiger Scholarship Fund is a critical component of Memphis Tigers Athletics, providing funding for student-athlete scholarships. These dollars directly impact the lives of Tiger student-athletes, providing them the opportunity to earn their college degree while competing for championships at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics.
"I want to commend Bob Winn and the excellent job he has done to grow and expand our M Club. He has been dedicated to reaching out to past letter winners and engaging them at a high level of involvement. It's always rewarding to welcome back this special group for games and events," said Executive Senior Associate Athletics Director Dr. Adam Walker.
