Memphis Creates Fan-Friendly Concessions for On-Campus Events
Aug 24, 2019 | General
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis Athletics Department and Chartwell's have teamed up to create a new lineup and pricing for concession stands at all home women's soccer, men's soccer, volleyball, women's basketball, baseball and softball games.
As part of an on-going effort to create a superior game-day experience, prices have been set at aggressive, fan-friendly levels including $2 hot dogs, $2 20-ounce bottled drinks, $3 nachos, and $1 candy and chips. Throughout the year, Memphis will also announce special concessions deals.
"Anyone who has gone to an athletic event has felt the pain of concessions prices," said Steve Macy, senior associate athletic director. "Our goal is to make going to home events affordable for all of our fans, and concessions are absolutely part of that equation."
Two years ago, Memphis announced that for the ticketed sports of baseball and women's basketball, kids 12 and under could enter for free. Admission in to softball, volleyball, women's soccer and men's soccer remain free of charge for everyone.
The fan-friendly pricing is for events and concession stands operated on the University of Memphis campus.
Concession stands' pricing and offerings at football and men's basketball games is set by those respective facilities.
