England Teeing up at US Women’s Amateur Monday

MEMPHIS, Tennessee – Incoming freshman Victoria England tees off Monday at the 2019 U.S. Women's Amateur at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Mississippi. The course will play at 6,547 yards and will be a par 72 event for the 119th U.S. Women's tournament.
England tees off at 8:25 a.m. off the 10th tee and will play with Kenzie Wright and Madelyn Gamble.
The 156-player field will play 18 holes both Monday and Tuesday. After that, the field will be trimmed to the low 64 scorers and will advance to match play. The Round of 64 in match play will be played on Wednesday, the Rounds of 32 and 16 on Thursday and the quarterfinals on Friday. Saturday will be the semifinal round of match play and Sunday's Championship match will be 36 holes.
The play on the course at Old Waverly will give England an early look at a course she will see during the regular season. Memphis plays in Mississippi State's Magnolia Invitational, October 13-15 in England's freshman campaign.
England, who played prep golf in Memphis at St. George's before finishing her high school career home schooled on a dual enrollment program, is one of three incoming freshmen for head coach Beth Harrelson this fall. She'll be joined in this fall's class by Haley Barclay (London, Ontario, Canada) and Brooke Veres (Goodyear, Arizona).
