Louisiana United edges Bluff City 80-78
MEMPHIS, Tennessee – The Elam Ending delivered the excitement it promised in game two of the TBT Memphis Regional.
Host squad Bluff City came from 71-65 down after trailing most of the third and the fourth quarters to take a lead at 78-77 off a Chris Crawford three. The defense then seemed to get the stop before Jordan Tolbert corralled the loose ball and found Tyren Johnson, who had missed the layup, now in the corner. Johnson lined it up and pushed his Louisiana United team in to the TBT Memphis Regional Championship game with his fourth triple of the night. Johnson finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds in the win.
The three-point area got a lot of work from Louisiana United, who went 17-for-41 from three. Frank Bartley IV was 7-for-12 from three and finished with 27 points.
Adonis Thomas led Bluff City with 24 points on 10-for-15 shooting.
In game one, the Jackson (TN) UnderDawgs opened the game with back-to-back threes and put the Southern Gentlemen into a hole they could never overcome in a 102-78 victory.
The UnderDawgs connected on 15 three-point field goals, led by five from Jaylen Barford. Barford led all scorers with 35 points on 13-for-21 shooting, adding a team-high seven rebounds.
The championship final between Jackson (TN) Underdawgs and Louisiana United tips at 2 p.m. (CT) in the Elma Roane Fieldhouse.
