Giles finishes in a tie for eighth, Chevalier in a tie for 17th at Turtle Point

KILLEN, Ala. – The final rounds for University of Memphis golfers Nick Giles and Guillaume Chevalier Tuesday at the University of North Alabama Spring Classic were impressive.

Participating in the event at Turtle Point Yacht & Country Club as individuals, Giles fired an even-par 72 for 218 and Chevalier shot 73 for 221. Giles recorded a Top 10 finish (tie for 8^th) by moving up 13 spots on the leaderboard Tuesday. Chevalier jumped 15 spots to finish in a tie for 17^th.

It was the best result of the spring for both Tigers' golfers.

Aaron Jackson of UNA was the medalist in the 76-player field. He shot 8-under 208 for the event's 54 holes, including an even-par 72 Tuesday. DePaul's Charlie Spener White finished second at 214.

UNA shot 8-under 862 to win the team competition. No other school shot below par.

Memphis resumes team competition next week by participating in the Mason Rudolph Championship April 5-7 at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn.
