Men's golf to play in UNA Spring Classic

KILLEN, Ala. – After a one-week break from competition, the University of Memphis men's golf team will resume play by participating in the University of North Alabama Spring Classic March 25 and 26 at Turtle Point Yacht & Country Club.

UNA is hosting its first men's golf tournament as an NCAA Division I program. Memphis will be part of a 13-team field competing in the UNA Spring Classic.

The Tigers are coming off a fifth-place finish at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate March 11 and 12 at Aiken, S.C. The UNBA Spring Classic will be the UofM's fourth event of the spring.

The tournament was originally scheduled to be played at the RTJ Shoals Schoolmaster Course but was moved due to excessive rain on the course in recent weeks.

North Alabama will have two teams competing in the event and will host Loyola Chicago, Southeastern Louisiana, IUPUI, DePaul, Valparaiso, Jacksonville State, Troy, Murray State, Morehead State, Belmont and Stetson. Memphis will also have players competing as individuals.

The teams will play 36 holes after a shotgun start on Monday and will follow with a final 18 holes on a shotgun start Tuesday.
