Men's tennis set for Ivy League road trip

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – For the second road swing of the season, Memphis men's tennis is set for a pair of matches at Dartmouth and Harvard this weekend.
The Tigers (8-2) will begin the trip with a visit to Dartmouth on Friday at 5 p.m. and cap the weekend against Harvard on Sunday at 1 p.m. Both matches will be streamed on WatchESPN.
In its last outing, Memphis split matches against Michigan State and LSU. Junior Jan Pallares enjoyed a 4-0 weekend on the court and was a part of clinching the doubles point in both contests. The Barcelona, Spain native also clinched the match against Michigan State with a straight-set singles win.
The Tigers checked in at No. 36 in this week's Oracle/ITA poll. In doubles, Memphis freshmen duo David Stevenson and Oscar Cutting rank No. 35 and are 4-2 in dual-match play.
No. 28 Dartmouth (5-4) enters the weekend having won two of its last three decisions. After a victory against Drake on Feb. 10, the Big Green suffered a narrow 4-3 setback against Penn before downing Princeton in the ECAC Indoor Championship.
The Big Green are led by Charlie Broom, who ranks No. 34 and holds a 3-4 record at the top spot. In doubles, Broom and partner David Horneffer rank No. 19 nationally.
Harvard (7-4) also split its weekend at the ECAC Tournament. After defeating Princeton, the Crimson fell to Penn, 4-3. Harvard ranks No. 33 in this week's Oracle/ITA poll. The Crimson also feature a pair of double teams in the national rankings. Logan Weber and Andy Zhou rank No. 34, while Weber and Brian Shi stand at No. 36.
Memphis has found recent success against this weekend's Ivy League opponents, holding a 4-0 advantage against the squads over the last two seasons.
