MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Capping its 2020 signing class, Memphis women's soccer announced the addition of Canadian Lara Kazandjian on Tuesday.
A midfielder from Kirkland, Quebec, Kazandjian will enroll in January and join the Tigers' program this spring.
"We couldn't be more excited to have Lara joining us this spring," head coach Brooks Monaghan said. "She brings international experience from Canada where she has represented her national team at the U-17 and U-20 level. She's an attacking minded player and reads the game very well. Lara is technical and possesses a high soccer IQ. I believe she has the ability to come in and make an immediate impact."
Kazandjian is a member of Lakeshore SC under the direction of coach Abe Yassine. She trained at the National Training Centre from 2015-19 and most recently competed with future teammates Tanya Boychuk and Mya Jones at the U20 Canadian Women's National Team camp this summer.
"Coming in the spring is a big advantage for her to get her feet wet and see what college life is all about," Monaghan added of the early enrollee. "For her, it gives her an advantage in the class that's coming in. She gets to play some college games, but most importantly she will be able to be in our environment on a daily basis."
Kazandjian's signing completes the Tigers' additions for the 2020 roster. Memphis also inked 11 student-athletes to National Letters of Intent during the initial signing period.
