Magnolia Invitational Final Results

Final tournament of fall on tap for next weekend.

The University of Memphis women's golf team carded rounds of 307 and 303 on the final day of the Magnolia Invitational, Monday. Projected storms in the Tuesday forecast meant the event changed to a 36-hole schedule on Monday to wrap up the event. Memphis finished 10th at the event at 931, 10 strokes behind Iowa in ninth place.

Tournament Victors
LSU swept the team and individual medalist honors at the two-day event. The Tigers fired an 856 (-8) for the team title, a four-stroke victory over host Mississippi State. LSU's Ingrid Lindblad claimed medalist honors with a 206 (-10). Lindblad fired a 67-68 on the final day of the event for a two-stroke win over Auburn's Megan Schofill. Lindblad's 67 in the second round was one of two in the round. MIssissippi State's Ashley Gilliam also scored a 67 in the second round. Both would stand as the low rounds of the event.

Short Turnaround on Deck
The Lady Tigers will have a short week to finish preparations for the final event of the fall slate. The team will travel to San Marcos, Texas to participate in the 2019 Jim West Challenge Sunday and Monday.
