Women's Basketball Attends 2019 Media Day

PHILADELPHIA – Head coach Melissa McFerrin and players Jamirah Shutes and Alana Davis are representing the University of Memphis women's basketball team at the annual American Athletic Conference Media Day held Oct. 14 at the Philadelphia Airport Marriott.

McFerrin, Shutes and Davis join men's basketball head coach Penny Hardaway and players James Wiseman and Precious Achiuwa at the annual event.

Men's coverage begins on Monday at 6:45 a.m. CT with the reveal of the men's basketball preseason poll, all-conference teams and preseason player and rookie of the year honorees. Commissioner Mike Aresco will also go live from the podium at 7 a.m. CT, for men's media day and at 10:30 a.m. CT for women's media day. Women's coverage begins at 10:20 a.m. CT.

With a top 35 recruiting class ready to hit the hardwood, the women's team was picked to finish eighth in the AAC preseason poll.

The American's Hali Oughton anchors live coverage along with basketball insiders Andy Katz, Monica McNutt and Mike O'Donnell. The American Digital Network coverage features poll and players of the year discussions, video features, live on-air interviews with players, coaches, and the commissioner, as well as team-by-team breakdowns.

Katz, one of the most renowned college basketball analysts in the county, will host roundtable conversations with all 24 head basketball coaches of the AAC.

This year, the complete coaches' roundtables will be streamed on Twitter in conjunction with the ADN's live show, which continues its in-depth coverage throughout the day.
