Lisi named league's Offensive Player of the Week

Tiger junior earns second career weekly accolade
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Following her game-winning performance Thursday against UAB, junior Jessica Lisi was named American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
In the 98th minute of action, senior Catherine Levasseur kept a UAB clear attempt in the attacking zone. Lisi collected the deflection at the top of the box and rocketed the ball in the lower left corner of the net for the golden goal.
The Woodbridge, Ontario, native tallied four shots in the Tigers' 24-shot effort, including two on goal. The game-winner was also her third goal of the season, which moved her into a tie atop the league lead in goals scored.
Monday's accolade is the first of the season for Lisi and second weekly conference recognition of her career. The junior was also named the league's Rookie of the Week on Oct. 7, 2016.
The Tigers return to action Monday night when Memphis takes the pitch against Samford in Birmingham, Ala. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and can be streamed on ESPN+.
