Men's tennis caps weekend with doubles titles

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – All four of Memphis' representatives at the Chattanooga Collegiate Clay Court Championships left with a share of the doubles title as the Tigers' men's tennis squad wrapped up their first weekend of the fall.
After advancing to the semifinals in doubles play on Saturday, the Tiger duo of Jan Pallares and Jeremy Taylor and the team of Turner Voges and Patrick Sydow finished as co-champions of the tournament.
In singles play, Sydow dropped a three-set bout in the final round, while Jeremy Taylor collected his third-straight win to close the weekend.
At Four-In-The-Fall in Tuscaloosa, Memphis split a pair of matches in singles play.
Freshman Oscar Cutting claimed a 6-4, 6-4 win against Tulane's Eric Wagner. Freshman David Stevenson also closed his weekend with a victory, going the distance against Adam Oscislawski of Rice.
The Tigers return to action in two weeks, splitting action at the Short/LaLance Shootout in Murfreesboro, Tenn., and the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla.
