Barnes Named to American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll

Junior guard tallied a career-high 11 assists in the victory over NC Central
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis junior guard Taylor Barnes has been named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll after having a career day in the victory over NC Central Saturday afternoon.

This is the second time this season Barnes has been named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll.

Barnes registered a career-high 11 assists in the 77-56 victory over the Eagles. It was the first time the Memphis, Tennessee native had recorded double-digit assists in a game. She finished the game with just four turnovers to finish with a 2.75 assist-to-turnover ratio.

The 11 assists were the most assists in a game for a Memphis player since Ariel Hearn recorded 12 early during the 2009 season. It was also the most assists in a single-game by a member of the American Athletic Conference this season.

Barnes also added six points in the victory. She is currently averaging a career-high 10.2 points per game this season.

Memphis returns to action on New Year's Day with a road game at George Washington. Tip-off against the Colonials is slated for 1 p.m. CT and can be viewed on ESPN+.
