Martin Joins Tiger Scholarship Fund Staff

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Steven "Boomer" Martin has joined the Tiger Scholarship Fund as an Athletic Development Coordinator it was announced by Athletic Director Tom Bowen, Monday.
Martin joined the Memphis staff on a full-time basis on December 8 after spending the previous six months as a graduate assistant in the department. A Memphis native, Martin is currently completing his master's degree at the UofM in sports commerce.
A 2014 graduate of Mississippi State with a degree in marketing, Martin spent two years as an account manager at ORCA Coolers and one year as an account manager with Metal Removal Technologies, LLC.
With the Tiger Scholarship Fund, Martin will assist with all department functions and fundraise for TSF's Annual Fund and the True Blue Society, Memphis Athletics' major giving society.
"We welcome Boomer into our department as he brings a passion to assist our student-athletes and coaches in competing at a championship level," said Dr. Adam Walker, Senior Associate Athletic Director. "Boomer is driven to serve and grow our donor base and we look forward to him contributing to our team."
The Tiger Scholarship Fund is the fundraising arm of the University of Memphis Athletic Department and provides scholarship support for the department's almost 400 student-athletes. Last year, TSF raised $8.16 million to support student-athlete scholarships. An all-time high of more than 4,000 donors made gifts to TSF.
