Tiger Scholarship Fund and M Club Enjoy Record-Breaking Year

MEMPHIS, Tenn. --Â The Memphis Tigers Athletics Department is excited to announce a record-setting year for the Tiger Scholarship Fund (TSF), raising $8.16 million to support student-athlete scholarships in 2017-18. An all-time high of more than 4,000 donors made gifts to TSF. The M Club, the department's former letter winners' association, had a record 721 dues paying members. Just five years ago, the M Club had 129 members.
"This past year's success is a credit to our generous and loyal donors, the outstanding work of our staff and the incredible effort of our talented coaches who recruit quality student-athletes that our alumni and fans are proud to support," said Director of Athletics Tom Bowen. "Memphis is home to some of the most passionate fans in college athletics and they once again have shown their commitment in supporting all 400 of our talented student-athletes."
The Tiger Scholarship Fund is a critical component of Memphis Tigers Athletics, providing funding for student-athlete scholarships. These dollars directly impact the lives of Tiger student-athletes, providing them the opportunity to earn their college degree while competing for championships at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics.
"As a student-athlete, the values of hard work, humility and dedication were instilled in me," said current Philadelphia Eagles and former Memphis Tigers kicker Jake Elliott ('17). "These are lessons I will carry with me the rest of my life. My scholarship to the University of Memphis made all of this possible."
