ATHENS, Ga. – Facing the No. 4 team in the country Monday afternoon, the Memphis men's tennis team couldn't quite catch the momentum it needed to capture an upset.
Memphis (2-1) fell to No. 4 Georgia (2-0) by a final of 4-1 in the championship round of the Athens regional as part of the ITA Kickoff Weekend.

The Bulldogs carried the early momentum over to singles play, claiming the first two matches to push their advantage to 3-0.
Peniston answered at the No. 2 position, battling through a hard-fought first set before cruising to a 6-4, 6-0 victory.
