Tigers outshoot Cougars in a weather-delayed match
EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Heavy rain and lightning in the Edwardsville area delayed the start almost three hours before the University of Memphis men's soccer team fell to SIUE by a score of 2-0 Monday evening. Memphis falls to 0-3-1 on the year with the next four matches on the road.
SIUE struck in the 31st minute to take the early lead over the Tigers. Memphis put together a couple of opportunities in the first half, resulting in three corners compared to zero by the Cougars. But to no avail, the Tigers were unable to find the back of the net.

The Tiger offense pressured SIUE throughout the entire second half. Memphis launched eight shots and forced five saves in the second half.
Memphis finished the match outshooting the Cougars, 13-8, and seven of the Tiger shots were on goal. The seven shots on goal marked a season-high for 2017. Memphis also finished with six corners compared to three by SIUE.
