Tigers Earn Two AAC Weekly Player of the Week Awards

Olivia Gauthier and Elizabeth Moberg represent Memphis after a 1-0-1 weekend
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Freshman goalkeeper Elizabeth Moberg and junior defender Olivia Gauthier have been named the American Athletic Conference Goalkeeper and Defender of the Week as announced by the AAC on Monday. The Tigers finished last weekend with a victory over ECU and a double-overtime draw against Cincinnati.
This is the third Defensive Player of the Week award for Gauthier while it is the first time Moberg has been recognized by the conference in her career.
Moberg posted back-to-back shutouts this weekend with a total of 13 saves. Against No. 18 Cincinnati, Moberg recorded a career-high 10 saves en route to her third shutout of the year. In five matches this season, Moberg is 3-1-1 with 28 saves for the Tigers. She also owns a .800 save percentage.
Gauthier played a crucial role on the defensive line this past weekend. Memphis now has seven shutouts this season. Gauthier started and played in every minute this weekend for the Tigers.
