Senior earned medalist honors at Colleton River Collegiate
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Memphis senior Thomas Perrot capped off a strong weekend on the links by being named the American Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week, announced by the Conference office on Wednesday afternoon.
The honor is his first collegiate American Athletic Conference Player of the Week honor, and just the second earned by a Memphis golfer (Will Pearson on March 5, 2014).
Perrot shot one over par for the Colleton River Collegiate Tournament, taking medalist honors by a stroke over the field. He finished with a three-round score of 217, helping lead the Tigers to a runner-up finish at the 12-team event.Â
Through the entire fall season and one event in the spring, Perrot has shot an aggregate score of 13 strokes under par, averaging 71.1 strokes per round - best on the team. He has finished inside of the top-10 in every Tiger event this season, and has led Memphis to top-three finishes in all five events of the season.
Memphis returns to action on March 21, when the team travels to Stuart, Florida, to compete in the Valspar Collegiate Invitational, hosted at the Floridian National Golf Club.
